Hello Calmly Chaotic readers! This is Kelli from the Kelli Flores blog, and I'm so excited to be here at CC to share some fun ideas for a holiday party look. When Ashley first mentioned the idea of a holiday party look, I instantly thought back to this look that I'd seen on Pinterest ages ago, because I think it is the ultimate sophisticated and sparkly look for the holidays. Here's my take on this look, whether you're looking to splurge or save.

High-waisted trousers have become one of my favorite things (remember this look on Rachel McAdams at Cannes?) and I love that vintage look combined with a festive and glittery top. To top off the look, I've thrown in some of my favorite trends of the season. Brightly jeweled accessories are everywhere right now, and I love a great pair of statement earrings. I think anything studded is edgy and fun, so I think studded heel pumps are the perfect amount of glitz for a holiday occasion. And I remember my grandmother having a chain mesh clutch, and even when I was young, I thought that bag was about the best thing that ever happened to the world, so anytime I see one now, I smile from ear to ear because I still think they're pretty awesome.

So these are my picks for a holiday party look that is equal parts fun and sophisticated. Hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

  1. Hey Kelli! I tried on a pair of high-waisted trousers last week and loved them! But quickly realized I have NO shoes to go with them...they're not flat-friendly, IMHO. Heels are on my Christmas list....I LOVE the silver top- very fun! I always think I need to show skin to be sexy, but as I get older I'm learning that shape matters more than anything!
